Government Canyon State Natural Area was established in 1994 when four thousand,
seven hundred and three acres of rugged, mostly unknown, Texas Hill Country perched on the edge of the Edwards Plateau
became the property of the state of Texas. TSS Bulletin 7 reports on the long-standing
Government Canyon Survey Project. Beautifully illustrated with many maps and color photos, Marvin Miller's text
introduces one of Texas' great natural areas and its underground wealth. Both those interested in the landscape of Texas and
those with more technical interests in karst regions will find much of interest about caves, karst, water, and the biology of
an important part of the Texas Hill Country.
